What is NHS Prescription Ordering Direct (POD) Services
NHS Prescription Ordering Direct (POD) is a service that allows you to order your repeat prescriptions online, by telephone or text message. It is available to patients registered with GP practices in England.
To use POD, you will need to know your NHS number and the name of your GP practice. You can order your prescriptions up to 28 days in advance.

If you are ordering your prescriptions by telephone or text message, you will need to call the POD number or send a text message to the POD number. You will then be asked to provide some personal information and the details of your repeat prescriptions.
POD is a free service and it is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
